HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 53 (1941)I 1242 i ORDINANCE NO. _ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, AMEND— ING ORDINANCE NOL 21 OF SAID CITY ENTITL— ED: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A CITY ELECTRICAL INSPECT* OR AND PRESCRIBING HIS DUTIES; ADOPTING BY REFERENCE A CODE TO BE KNOWN AS THE —, CITY OF TUSTIN, PROVIDING FOR ELECTRIC PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS AND FIXING THE FEES THEREFOR; REGULATING THE INSTALLA4� TION, ARRANGEMENTS, ALTERATION, REPAIR, USE, MAINTENARCE AND OPERATION OF ELEC— TRIC FIXTURES, AND OTHER ELECTRIC APPLI;- ANCES AND EQUIPMENT IN THE CITY OF TUSTIN; PROVIDING THE PENALTY FOR A VIOLATION OF THE SAME AND REPEALING ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH THIS "ORDIN— ANCE", AS AMENDED. The Board -of Trustees and City Council of the City of Tustin,. California, do ordain as follows: Section 1: That Section l of Ordinance No. 21 of the City of Tustin is hereby amended to read'as follows: "Section 1: CITY ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR. There is hereby created and established the dffice of City Electrical Inspector. The City Electrical Inspector_ shall inspect all electrical in— stallation and maintenance of electrical wiring, electrical devices and electrical material in the City of Tustin to ascertain and determine whether or not it complies with the laws respecting such electrical installation and maintenance and with good electrical practice." Section 2: . That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 21 of the City of Tustin is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2: Said City Electrical Inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor, with ehe advice and consent and approval of the City Council. He shall receive such compeoLsation as shall be fixed by the City Council. He shall hold office at the pleasure of the City Council. It shall be unlawful for the City Electrical Inspector to engage in the business of the installation and the maintenance of electtic wiring, electric devices and electric material, either directly or indirectly, in the City of Tustin, and he shall have no financial interest in any concern engaged in such business in said City of Tustin at any time while holding the',Office of City Elect— rioal Inspector._ The Mayor,.with the consent and approval of the City Coumcil may appoint such assistant inspectors as may be necessary from time to time". Section 3: All other provisions of said Ordinance No. 212 as amended, shall be and remain in full force and effect. Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published ance in the Tustin News, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Tustin, Orange County, California, and said Ordinance shall take effedt and be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from the date of its final passage and adoption.
