HomeMy WebLinkAboutA ST S 165 03/25/1991a�Y FILE COPY S City of Tustin Community Development Department March 25, 1991 Mr. & Mrs. Darrell Cook 165 South "A" Street Tustin, CA 92680 SUBJECT: CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cook: In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny Certification of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The following findings are required before a Certificate of Appropriateness is issued: a. The -proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design standards which may be established from time to time by the Cultural Resources Committee. b. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District. C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings. The extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of appropriateness.of materials, scale, size, height, placement and use of a new building or structure in relationship to existing buildings and structures and the surrounding setting. The Community Development Director has reviewed the proposed garage demolition and reconstruction for the above mentioned residence and has determined that the proposed addition may be approved subject to the following conditions: 1. The doors and windows of the proposed addition shall duplicate the doors and windows of the existing residence. 3. The garage addition must be used as an accessory structure and may not be converted into a residential unit unless a Conditional Use Permit is obtained from the Community Development Department in accordance with Section 9223 of the Tustin City Code.
