(714)573-3140 SUBJECT: CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR SEISMIC REHABILITATION AT 365 EL CAMINO REAL Building (714) 573-3131 (714)573-3132 Dear Mr. Surfas: Housing In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001, which was adopted (714) 573-3117 June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Code Enforcement Development Director has the authority to approve, (714) 573-3134 approve with conditions or deny a Certificate of Business License Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City (714) 573-3144 building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. Inspection Requests (714)573-3141 The following findings are required before a Certificate Graffiti Hot Line of Appropriateness is issued: (714) 573-3111 1. The proposed work will not materially alter, FAX Machine (714) 573-3113 destroy or adversely affect the resource and, in the case of a structure, is compatible with the architectural style of the existing structure; 2. The proposed modifications will retain the essential elements which make the structure, site or feature culturally significant; 3. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design standards which may be established from time to time by the Cultural Resources Committee; 4. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District; and 5. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings. The extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of appropriateness of materials, scale, size, height, placement and use of a new building or structure in relationship to existing buildings and structures and the surrounding setting. Certificate of Appropriateness 365 El Camino Real April 15, 1994 Page 2 The Community Development Director has reviewed the proposed plan and approves a Certificate of Appropriateness for seismic rehabilitation at the subject• location. It has been determined that the proposed improvements are in conformance with the above requirements in that the proposed rehabilitation will not alter the exterior appearance of the structure.
