MAIN STREET Building (714) 573-3131 (714)573-3132 Dear Mr. Perfit: Housing In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001, which was adopted (714) 573-3117 June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Code Enforcement Development Director has the authority to approve, (714) 573-3134 approve with conditions or deny a Certificate of ense Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City Business 14) 5 3-3144 building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. Inspection Requests (714) 573-3141 The following findings are required before a Certificate Graffiti Hot Line of Appropriateness is issued: (714) 573-3111 1. The proposed work will not materially alter, FAX Machine destroy or adversely affect the resource and, in (714)573-3113 the case of a structure, is compatible with the architectural style of the existing structure; 2. The proposed modifications will retain the essential elements which make the structure, site or feature culturally significant; 3. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design standards which may be established from time to time by the Cultural Resources Committee; 4. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District; and 5. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings. The extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of appropriateness of materials, scale, size, height, placement and use of a new building or structure in relationship to existing buildings and structures and the surrounding setting. 0 0 Certificate of Appropriateness 191-195 E. Main Street January 19, 1995 page 2 It has been determined that the proposed improvements are in conformance with the above requirements in that the proposed rehabilitation will not significantly alter the exterior appearance of the structure. The Community Development Director has reviewed the proposed plan and approves a Certificate of Appropriateness for seismic rehabilitation, subject to the following conditions: 1. All work shall be in compliance with the approved building permit plans for the subject project. 2. The type of bricks used to close the openings shall match the existing brick on the building, subject to field review by the Community Development Department.
