The following findings are required before a Certificate of Appropriateness is issued: a. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design standards which may be established from time to time by the Cultural Resources Committee. b. The proposed work .does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District. C. The proposed work is. harmonious with existing surroundings. The extent of harmony shall be evaluated.in terms of appropriateness of materials, scale, size, height, placement and use of a new building or structure in relationship to existing buildings and structures and the surrounding setting. The proposed grey Class A felt composition shingle roofing material is similar in appearance to the previously used brown composition shingle roofing material and is appropriate for the subject building. The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: 1. Prior to the start of any roofing work, the applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2. Any replacement or repair of an existing feature of the roof (i.e. facia, gutters, downspout, roof vents, chimneys) shall match the existing materials, finish and colors of the existing. structure.
