HomeMy WebLinkAboutEL CAMINO REAL 200, 220 12/11/1996December 11, 1996 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 200 "and 220 EL CAMINO REAL EXTERIOR MODIFICATIONS TO A NON-CONTRIBUTING COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted' June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny Certification of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The following findings are required before a Certificate of Appropriateness is issued: a. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code -and design standards which may be established from time to time by the Cultural Resources Committee. b. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District. C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings. The extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of appropriateness of materials, scale, size, height, placement and use of a new building or structure in relationship to existing buildings and structures and the surrounding setting. Certificate of Appropriateness 220 El Camino Real December 11, 1996 The Community Development Department has reviewed the proposed exterior modifications to a non-contributing commercial structure and has determined that the proposal is in conformance with the above requirements. The proposed exterior doors and awnings to be installed on the north elevation of the existing building, the construction of a parking area and playground, and the installation of wrought iron fencing and gates and installation of landscaping are appropriate for the subject building. The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: 1. Prior to the start of any construction, the applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2. The project is subject to all conditions of approval of. Resolution No. 3500 approving Conditional Use Permit 96- 034 and Design Review 96-048 for the Edgewood pre-school.
