HomeMy WebLinkAbout3RD ST W 660 08/25/1997G��Y � his Community Development Department City of Tustin 300 Centennial Way CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS Tustin, CA 92780 6 6 0 W. 3rd STREET (714) 573-3100 RE -ROOF OF AN 'A# RATED RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE AUGUST 25, 1997 In accordance.with Ordinance No. 1001, which was adopted June 20, 1988,.by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny a Certificate of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The following findings are required before a Certificate of Appropriateness is issued: 1. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design standards which may be established from time to time by the Cultural Resources Committee; 2. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District; and 3. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings. The extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of appropriateness of materials, scale, size, height, placement and use of a new building or structure in relationship to existing buildings and structures an the surrounding setting. The proposed project consists of replacing existing roofing materials on the residence at 660 West 3rd Street. The existing gray asphalt composition shingles will be replaced with Charcoal .Black Celotex Quality Dimensional shake shingles. The proposed color and type of shingles will complement the existing residence which is a fine Craftsman Bungalow built in 1910. As such, it has been determined that the project is in conformance with the above requirements. The. Community Development Director has considered the proposed project and approves a Certificate of Appropriateness for the re -roof of the residential structure at 660 W. -3rd Street. , � �'/' , " ,, /'� �_ 2 _� ? �- - Elizabeth A.
