HomeMy WebLinkAboutSMOKE TREE LN 1171 10/16/1997I Community Development Department October 16, 1997 Kitty & Scott Siino 1171 Smoke Tree Lane Santa Ana, CA 92705 City of Tustin 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 92780 (714) 573-3100 SUBJECT: CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR PARKING AND LANDSCAPING MODIFICATIONS AND THE EXTERIOR REMODELING OF TWO EXISTING RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS (CONTRIBUTING AND NONCONTRIBUTING) LOCATED AT 115 EAST SECOND STREET AND THEIR CONVERSION TO OFFICES (CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 96- 011 AND DESIGN REVIEW 96-20) Dear Mr. and Mrs. Siino: In accordance with Ordinance No.. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny Certification of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The following findings are required before a Certificate of Appropriateness is issued: a. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and design standards which may be established from time to time by the Cultural Resources Committee. b. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District. C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings. The extent of harmony shall be evaluated in terms of appropriateness of materials, scale., size, height, placement and use of a new building or structure in relationship to existing buildings and structures and the surrounding setting. Certificate of Appropriateness 115 East Second Street Page 2 The Community Development Department and the Planning Commission have reviewed the proposal to make parking and landscaping modifications and to remodel -the exterior of two existing residential buildings (contributing and noncontributing) located at 115 East Second Street for conversion to offices (Conditional Use Permit 96-011 and Design Review 96-20). and have determined that the proposed work is in conformance with the above requirements.
