HomeMy WebLinkAbout6TH ST W 345 03/16/1998Community Development Department 8 March 16, 1998 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 345 West 6th Street REROOF OF AN EXISTING GARAGE City of Tustin 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 92780 (714) 573-3100 In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The proposed project includes the tear -off of a hot roof on a garage to be replaced with a new hot roof alteration to an "C" rated structure per the Tustin Historical Resources Survey. The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows: A. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and any applicable design standards in that in accordance with TCC Section 8103(m) the proposed roof is a minimum Class B roof covering assembly. It actually is a Class A roof covering assembly. B. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District in that the proposed roof replaces a dilapidated roof with one of the same style, appropriate for Spanish Colonial Revival houses. C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings in that the new roof is consistent with the style of the existing roof, and it is a flat hot roof appropriate for Spanish Colonial Revival style houses. The subject property has a Spanish Colonial Revival style house, and the neighborhood consists mostly of Spanish Colonial and Tudor Revival houses. The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: 1. Prior to the start of any work, the applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2. Any replacement or repair of any existing features surrounding the roof shall match the existing materials, finish and colors of the existing structure.
