SIXTH STREET KITCHEN AREA EXPANSION City of Tustin 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 92780 (714) 573-3100 In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The project involves a 127 square foot addition to an existing kitchen area in the rear of the existing residence, a "C" rated structure per the Tustin Historical Resources Survey. The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows: A. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and TCC Section 8103 (m) . • B. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the Designated Cultural Resource in that the proposed expansion complements the style of the residence and, as conditioned, will be constructed of materials that match the existing residence, as documented in the Tustin Historical Resources Survey.. C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings in that the area to be expanded is entirely within the footprint of an existing portion of the residence and, as conditioned, will match the features of the existing residence. In addition, the expansion area is located to the rear of the residence and is not visible. from the public right-of-way. The project is hereby approved, subject to the following condition: 1. All colors and materials shall match those used on the existing residence to the greatest extent feasible_. If modifications to the materials are. desired, the property owner or any designated representative shall contact the Community Development Department to determine whether a revision to this Certificate of Appropriateness is required prior to the start of any work. is izabeth.A.
