425 EI Camino Real
ADDITION TO A NON-CONTRIBUTING STRUCTURE
In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City
Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions
or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property
located within a Cultural Resource District. The proposed project includes the installation of striped
awnings on the south and west elevations and a brick and wrought iron patio enclosure around a
portion of the existing brick paving along the south elevation on a non-contributing structure per the
Tustin Historical Resources Survey.
The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows:
A. In accordance with Tustin City Code Section 9252(H)(2)(a) the proposed work conforms to
the Tustin City Code.
B. In accordance with Tustin City Code Section 9252(H)(2)(b), the proposed will not adversely
affect the character of the existing structure or any surrounding contributing or non-
contributing structures in the Cultural Resources District.
C. In accordance with Tustin City Code Section 9252(H)(2)(c) the proposed work is harmonious
with the existing surroundings. In evaluating this, the appropriateness of materials, scale,
size, height, placement of the proposed work in relationship to existing structures and the
surrounding setting was considered.
The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the conditions included in the Building and
Encroachment Permits dated June 12, 2000.
