HomeMy WebLinkAboutPREBLE DR 180-202 04/03/2000/61 Community Development Department April 3, 2000 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 180 — 202 Preble Drive Re -roof (Rudd) City of Tustin 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 92780 (714) 573-3100 In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988 by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The proposed project includes a re -roof alteration to a portion of an non -rated structure per the Tustin Historical Resources Survey. The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows: A. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and any applicable design standards in that the material to be applied to a portion of the building,'which is currently visible from public view, shall be white rock. This type of roof material will match the existing white rock material on the flat roof which is visible from public view. B. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District in that the proposed material will look the same as the existing white rock material which exists on the structure: The roof material will improve the appearance of the structure and will be compatible with the style of the building and improve the character of the District. C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings in that the white rock material used to re - roof the structure is compatible with the flat roof style of the subject building and compatible with the surrounding residential structures. The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: 1. Prior to the start of any work, the applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2. Any replacement or repair of any existing features surrounding the facia shall match the existing materials, finish and colors of the existing structure. 3. The white rock roof material shall match the existing roof material exactly in color, application and style. The proposed material must be compared to the existing material for approval by the Community Development Department prior to issuance of a building permit. Elizabeth A.
