HomeMy WebLinkAbout2ND ST W 355 10/29/20020 0 Community Development Department City ®f Tustin October 29, 2002 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 92780 714.573.3100 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 355 West 2"d Street REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING WINDOWS AND WOOD SIDING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE HOUSE In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988, by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The proposed project includes the removal and replacement of the vertical wood siding (at the northwest corner of the house) with horizontal wood siding to match the original house and removal and replacement of double hung wood windows with the same window type at a symmetrical position around a wood Dutch door at the kitchen. The structure is a 13 -rated Victorian Italianate listed in the Tustin Historical Resources Survey. The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows: A. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and any applicable design standards in that in accordance with TCC Section 8103 (m) the proposed roof is a class B covering assembly. B. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District in that the proposed roof replaces a dilapidated roof with one of the same style, appropriate to the existingtyle of the house. C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings in that the proposed roof is consistent with the style of the existing roof and appropriate for the style of the house The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: Prior to the start of any work, the applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2.
