Myrtle Street In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988, by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements to any property located within a Cultural Resource District. The proposed project includes the construction of a six (6) foot masonry block wall with brick fascia and a wood pedestrian gate on the south of the existing residence, behind the front building facade and the front yard setback. The residence is not identified in the Tustin Historical Resources Survey. The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows: A. In accordance with Tustin City Code Section 9252(H)(2)(a), the proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code. B. In accordance with Tustin City Code Section 9252(H)(2)(b), the proposed work will not adversely affect the character of the Cultural Resources District or resources within the District in that the wall is compatible with the design of the existing residence, matches the material and color of the existing chimney, and conforms to the requirements of the Single Family Residential zoning district. C. In accordance with Tustin City Code Section 9252(H)(2)(c), the proposed work is harmonious with the existing surroundings. In evaluating this, the appropriateness of materials, size, placement, and color of the new walls in relation to existing structures and the surrounding setting was considered. Elizabeth A.
