HomeMy WebLinkAbout3RD ST W 455 04/01/2003Community Development Department City of Tustin APRIL 1, 2003 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 455 West Third Street REROOF OF A B -RATED RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 92780 714.573.3100 In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988, by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The proposed project includes the removal of an existing wood shake roof to be replaced with a new 30 -year composite shingle roofing (Color: Slate Gray or dark gray). The structure is a "B -rated" California Bungalow structure per the Tustin Historical Resources Survey. The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows: A. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and any applicable design standards in that in accardnnCe with TC'.0 Section 9103 (m) the. lirnp nsed rnnf k a class R myer�n_assemh y B. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District in that the nr npnsed rnnf replaces a dilapidated wood shake roof with it shingles with a similar wood shake appearance, appropriate to the existing stVle of the bons C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings in that the limpo�f is consistent with the, stele of the existing rnnf anti appropriate for the style of the house The proposed roofing, material colnr is comnatihle with the existing li ht bei e house color - The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: Prior to the start of any work, the applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2. Any replacement or repair of any existing features surrounding the roof shall match the existing materials, finish, and colors of the existing structure. Elizabeth A.
