HomeMy WebLinkAboutEL CAMINO REAL 405 06/23/20030 Community Development Department 0 City of Tustir JUNE 23, 2003 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 92780 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 714.573.3100 405 El CAMINO REAL COX MARKET PLAZA In accordance with Ordinance No. 1.001 which was adopted June 20, 1988, by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The proposed project includes the construction of approximately ninety-four (94) lineal feet of white, wrought iron fencing along the south property line wall. The fence will be a maximum of forty-eight (48) inches in height, and will match the existing wrought iron fencing next to the building. The fence will stop approximately two (2) feet from the sidewalk to accommodate future construction of a brick pilaster to match the existing light standard pilasters. The structure is located within Old Town Tustin, within the Cultural Resources Overlay District. The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows: is A. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and any applicable design standards in that the fence will match the existing white,., wrought iron feDcing adjacent to the. building, and will he, constructed in accordance, with the 2001 California Rrnilding Code C'R4 B. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District in that the new fencing will match the. existing on -cite fencing, and will he, located immediat ly adiacent to an Pxietino narking lot planter wall C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings in that the proposed fencing is consistent with the style and color of the existing fencing- The --ncing- The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: Prior to the start of any work, the applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2. Prior to any work in the public right-of-way, an Encroachment Permit must be obtained from and applicable fees paid to the Public Works Department. 3. The future pilaster shall be constructed to .match the existing pilasters located along the south property line wall. Elizabeth A.
