HomeMy WebLinkAboutPACIFIC ST 245 07/22/2004• Ct;mmunity Development Department July 22, 2004 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 245 PACIFIC STREET REROOF OF A "C RATED" RESIDENTIAL CALIFORNIA BUNGALOW STRUCTURE 300 Centennial Way Tustin, CA 02780 714.573.3100 In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988, by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The proposed project includes the installation of GAF Timberline 40 year fiberglass charcoal color roof shingles over two layers of existing roofing. The structure is a "C" rated California Bungalow structure per the Tustin Historical Resources Survey. The Community Development Department finds and detennines as follows: A. The proposed work conforms to the Municipal Code and any applicable design standards in that in accordance with TCC Section 8103 (m) the proposed roof is a class A covering assembly. B. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District in that the proposed new shingle roof installation is necessary to ensure the continued protection and integrity of the home, while maintaining the harmony of the home's unique. California Bungalow architecture. C. The proposed work is harmonious with existing surroundings in that the proposed roof is consistent with the style of the existing roof and appropriate for the style of the house. The proposed roofing material charcoal'color is compatible with the existing house colors. The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: Prior to the start of any work, the applicant shall obtain a building permit and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2. Any replacement or repair of any existing features surrounding the roof shall match the existing materials, finish, and colors of the existing structure. 3.
