The proposed project involves the installation of two (2) blade signs on the exterior of the building, in compliance with City Council Resolution No. 09-15. In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988, by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The Community Development Department finds and determines as follows: A. The proposed work will not detrimentally alter, destroy or adversely affect the structure in that the signs are designed in a style that is compatible with the industrial style of the building and will be installed so that they could be removed in the future without altering the structure of the -building. B. The proposed work does not adversely affect the character of the District or Designated Cultural Resources within the District in that the signs are designed to complement the building and are similar to signs historically seen within the Cultural Resources District. C. The proposed modifications will retain the essential elements which make the structure culturally significant in that the proposed signs are an addition to the exterior of the building and do not alter the appearance of the building other than through the addition of the two blade signs. The proposed work is hereby approved, subject to the following conditions: 1. Prior to the start of any work, the applicant shall obtain any applicable building, electrical, or other necessary permits and pay all applicable plan check and permit fees. 2.
