THE MAIN SINGLE-FAMILY STRUCTURE IS LISTED IN THE CITY'S HISTORICAL RESOURCES SURVEY TO BE AN EXAMPLE OF THE TRANSITION TO TRACT RANCH ARCHITECTURE. THE ACCESSORY GUEST HOUSE IS NOT DESCRIBED OR LISTED AS SIGNIFICANT. In accordance with Ordinance No. 1001 which was adopted June 20, 1988, by the Tustin City Council, the Community Development Director has the authority to approve, approve with conditions, or deny Certificates of Appropriateness for improvements requiring a City building permit for property located within a Cultural Resource District. The Community Development Director finds and determines with respect to the proposed demolition pursuant to Tustin City Code Section 9252i: A. That the accessory guest house is in such deteriorated condition that the structure poses a hazard to public health and safety and repairs are not physically possible as evidence by licensed architect statement attached hereto. B. That the reconstruction or restoration of the accessory guest house at 335 W. 6th Street is not economically feasible or practical. C. That the subject property is in the Historical Resources Survey, describing the existing main residence as a good example of the transition to tract ranch architecture. That the accessory guest house structure is not listed or described in the Historical Resources Survey as being historically significant and therefore the demolition of said structure is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) regulations. D. That the replacement of the accessory guest house is not necessary in that the main residential building will not be altered under the associated building permit and therefore the historical structure and approved use will remain unchanged.
